Al Nasr Stadium
The Al Nasr Stadium in Oud Metha is the home stadium of Al Nasr SC, a professional football club located in Dubai, UAE. The club is the first and oldest sports club in the United Arab Emirates, founded in 1945.
The stadium has been built in 1995 and has deteriorated over time. By building a brand new modern stadium the club is able to accommodate up to 15,000 football fans. It will be finished just in time to host the 2019 Asian Cup in January and February 2019.
The new stadium was designed by OBE Architects and built according to European standards. It is fully covered with illuminated cladding with diamond-shaped translucent panels. During day time the cladding is white; it turns turquoise by night; referring to the team colours.
Our Middle East production facility has been awarded the curved steel tubes for the stadiums’ roof structure. Kersten bent three different tubes in various radii.
- Ø114mm – 2D bent, in radii varying between 6,000 to 13,000mm
- Ø323mm – 2D bent in radii varying between 7,000 to 13,000mm
Despite extreme deviations in ovality of the delivered materials, Kersten Middle East team succeeded in rolling the tubes according to the specs and actually improving the cross section of the tubes immensely.
- Ø219mm – 2D bent in radii varying between 2,000 to 100,000mm
Starting off with a scope of just 350 tubes, the Kersten Middle East team succeeded to roll nearly all tubes of this size (950pcs) due to great efficiency results and improving on customers’ deadline.
